Natural strings are hand-rubbed with a light oil. Varnished strings have three coats of finish before being hand polished with the oil.

The beef gut strings has a higher tensile strength.

The Gamut "Lyon" type is a single twist string.

The Gamut "Pistoy" type is made of three strands of gut twisted in one direction and then the three combined together by twisting in the other direction in rope fashion but there is no space in the structure like the catline does.

"Tricolore" strings are available in gut and aluminium wound gut.

. gut: light= 1,04 mm medium= 1,06 mm heavy= 1,08 mm

. wound: light= 0,88 mm medium= 0,90 mm heavy= 0,92 mm (real diameter)
